On December 11, 2018 The Berkeley City Council established six standing committees with the stated goal to create a standardized structure for public policy development and consideration and to provide the community and the City Council with adequate opportunity for detailed policy discussions outside of a full City Council meeting. Each Committee has defined areas of responsibility and consists of three City Council members. The Board and Commission process is not affected by this change.
